          The High Commissioner of the United Nations (UN), Navi Pillay, said that Syrian forces are deliberately and systematically targeting children. Speaking to the BBC,said Navi kids get shot in the knee and are held in inhumane conditions by the government of Bashar al-Assad, the subject of a popular revolt over a year.

          "This is one of the most shocking developments of the Syrian government's reactionto the protests (antigovernment)," said Navi. "They (security forces) are going after the kids. We have evidence, obtained by the investigation commission, after talkingwith parents and victims, the children were shot in the knee, were detained in inhumane conditions without access to medication, and target of brutality. It's horrible."

Em entrevista à BBC, Navi disse que crianças levam tiros no joelho e são presas em condições desumanas pelo governo de Bashar Al-Assad, alvo de uma revolta popular há mais de um ano.

          "Esse é um dos desdobramentos mais chocantes da reação do governo sírio aos protestos (antigoverno)", disse Navi. "Eles (forças de segurança) estão indo atrás das crianças. Temos provas, obtidas pela comissão de investigação, após falar com pais e vítimas, de que crianças levaram tiros no joelho, foram presas em condições desumanas, sem acesso a medicamentos, sendo alvo de brutalidade. É horrível."
